Ave Maria Academy is a Catholic school whose mission, governance, curriculum, and daily practices are firmly rooted in the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church. The school provides systematic, standards-based catechetical instruction in full fidelity to the Catechism of the Catholic Church, the Religion Standards and Curriculum Guidelines of the Diocese of Columbus, and applicable diocesan policies.
Religious instruction is developmentally appropriate, sequential, and integrated across the curriculum to support the formation of the whole child—spiritually, intellectually, socially, and morally. Catholic identity is intentionally expressed through prayer, liturgy, virtue formation, service, and the integration of faith into all academic disciplines.
Sacramental preparation is conducted in collaboration with the parish and in accordance with diocesan norms, recognizing parents as the primary educators of their children in the faith. The school actively supports students’ participation in the sacramental and liturgical life of the Church.
All faculty and staff are oriented to the Catholic mission of the school and are expected to model Gospel values, support Church teaching, and contribute to a faith-filled learning environment. Ongoing professional formation through the Catechetical Institute ensures that instructional practices and catechetical delivery remain aligned with diocesan expectations and accreditation standards.
